Recently I became aware that certain changes are necessary in my life. Everything seemed too organized, and moving along same lines of comfort. I felt a definite desire to experience something new. But I didn't know, how I would approach that and where I should begin. The answer came when I accidentally learned about Living Myth expeditions. I never thought about traveling to India, and Yatra' program was way beyond the scope of my everyday interests. I wholeheartedly trusted a person who suggested that this trip would be good for me, so I decided to go. And I had a plan "B" in case things would go wrong, but remembered about it only twice: while flying to India, and after getting back home after the trip.
What happened to me during Yatra trip was something short of miraculous. "Living Myth" organizers – Yana, Vlad and Michael – created a truly magical atmosphere on this trip. Everything was permeated with serenity, friendship and boundless joy. We had seen it all during this trip: wild elephants, ferocious monkeys, mountainous landscapes and rice paddies… We took part in Pongal celebration and explored overcrowded Bengaluru, visited eco-villages, alternative schools, Shivaist temples, and climbed holy mount Arunachala. Sometimes India was testing us and giving us hard time, but Michael was always there to take care of everything. And all our trials and tribulations became interesting experiences worth sharing with friends after coming home.
Everything was perfectly organized, and ran like clockwork. I saw that behind the scenes there was a lot of professional work done by our organizers. They are truly wonderful people: charming and always smiling Yana, smart and enthusiastic Vlad, and Michael – a genius facilitator, a universal erudite, and a master of body-oriented practices.
Expedition participants were equally remarkable. I have never seen a group of so many kind, intelligent and outgoing people. I am very grateful to them all for helping me on my Yatra, for filling my days with joy and friendly care. Thank you very much to all of you, and may sun always shine upon your path!
I do not have much time in my busy life for myself. However, from now on, I will find ways to organize my vacation is sync with Living Myth journeys. I am sure that whatever the next expedition will be, and to whatever country we would venture, it would always be a miracle! Living Myth will always show me the world from an entirely new perspective that I would have never imagined possible.
A real Living Myth has happened to me in Indonesia! Yes, yes, yes, a very real Living Myth. It was not just a meaningful journey, not just getting to know Indonesia – it was a space of my very own Living Myth. it was a space in which experiences that I collected throughout my life suddenly interlinked, interconnected and blossomed. It was a space for my personal courage, challenge and victory, it was a space for contemplation, a space of transformation and synchronicities, it was a living space, a space of Living Myth.
I am very grateful to Yana, Michael and Hauwke. Thank you very much for thoroughly organizing everything, and giving me freedom to be who i am. Thank you for your kindness, care and professionalism. Thank you!
It is difficult to put in words the power of what I experienced in two weeks of our expedition. I will attempt to express that through four gifts that i received:
1) A beautiful, rich, pithy, contrasting journey through Indonesian islands! Visiting temples, living with an Indonesian family, meeting a traditional healer, bicycling through rice fields, swimming first with turtles, then with whale sharks in an open sea, visiting a cave waterfall, climbing volcanoes!
2) A wholisitc perspective onto my life story, merging little and big events that happened before the trip, and underwent transformation during Living Myth. LifeStream and MySelf laboratories helped prepare for eventful days, integrate experiences and impressions, and invite important questions to emerge in a group process, to be discussed and answered.
3) Reawakening as the author of my own life. This was the Artist in Voyage expedition, meaning I am the creator of my own life. I have to say that this is neither a concept, nor a logical and a resourceful position to be in, but a poignant experience of being the author of my life. And the essence of this experience is still with me.
4) Meeting amazing people and becoming friends with them. Long looks, group discussions, tender hugs, joint efforts, joyful laughter, help and support, understanding similarity and difference, exchanging knowledge and skills. MySelf laboratory, humanitarian project in an orphanage, time spent together – all that made it possible to open, express, integrate and present everyone in a unique way.
And all that did happen!
If you are not looking for a conventional camping trip or usual tourism, but drawn to a deeper encounter with old traditions and untrodden paths, if you want an immersion into Javanese culture, then you are ready for a Living Myth trip with Yana! If you are already familiar with the taste of meditation, or your inner child wants you to let go of everything and dance together, then Yana will lead you to places where tourists do not venture. You will meditate immersed in water at night, or in a cave where sultans practice, surrounded by the sounds of crashing waves, you will experience Sumara – a little-known Javanese meditation practice, meet famous performance masters, and gain an insight into blending traditional dance, movement exercises and meditation into a seamless whole leading you deeply into yourself. Being myself an avid traveler and having visited 55 countries, I really like Yana's approach to designing trips. So don't miss this unique opportunity! And beside that, Yana is not only a warm-hearted organiser, but also a wonderful person!
The festival on the educational permaculture farm "Adam and Eve" was a small gathering for friends and friends of friends, around 20 people all together. The group consisted of people from Russia, who mostly already friends, and Israelis, with whom we became acquainted during the festival. It was very cool!
"Adam and Eve" is the right name for this place. It felt like paradise. Not only because of the hospitable and warm land of Israel The festival itself was well-balanced, versatile, interesting, and friendly. It was a great opportunity to relax, to learn a huge amount of new things, and to meet wonderful people who I did not know prior, yet turned out to be from the same tribe.
Deep inner work within the MySelf Laboratory allowed me to solve urgent inquiries and brought communication to a new, unprecedented level. In the time since these travels I find myself easily recalling many conversations from these laboratories.
The Israelis showed us a new world of permaculture, environmentally friendly farming, traditional festivals, and delicious food.
I also had a remarkable opportunity to contribute to the festival through one of my favorite activities – massage. This allowed me to express and maintain my space.
In short, if, in your travels, you are looking for bright and new experiences, versatile study of a place, deep, friendly and direct communication, connecting with yourself - then you should embark on a Living Myth Journey!
This trip has made an absolutely fantastic impression on me: so much has happened in such a short time! I liked very much the non-touristy places, especially an evening spent in a village of painters, where people danced and sang not for tourists, but for themselves and each other. We participated in a local university actor's party, where actors made fun of everything in a close circle of friends. We met many interesting people. I enjoyed an opportunity to hear Suprapto's daughter Melati, who was a student of Marina Abramovic, and also some of Suprapto's teachers: a head of a local religious community, and Laura – an Italian woman who teaches traditional Javanese meditation.
Suprapto's classes is a separate incredible story. I liked everything about them: Suprapto's soft, attentive style, our traveling to different places, and that in the end we had to put together a performance despite many difficulties. It was a very deep work, free of senseless movements and small talk. It was improvisation that took many forms under various circumstances.
