BLAZING
LUCID TRAILS

Live the dream of Timor and Sumba's rugged mountain landscapes,
secluded beaches and tribal villages

February 4 – 18, 2017
Concept
This off-the-beaten-path adventure will make your wildest dreams come true. The faraway and secluded islands of West Timor and Sumba are to this day steeped in ancient animist tradition and tribal ways of living. Betel-chewing kings govern beehive-hut villages, and work the fields amidst their people, high school is forbidden and considered to be the cause of unhappiness, and men grow their hair long to preserve their connection to nature. These islands are not of this world, existing in another reality. They activate forgotten bodily energies and set free the flow of inner life, letting our ancient Self speak to us in our dreams.

What is it about?
During this expedition we will hike to remote villages and spend time with their inhabitants, observing their ways of being, exploring and sharing, helping and celebrating together. We will do body- and mind-centering practices, share and explore our night dreams, and learn about their connection to waking reality in Living Dreams laboratory held at places of power (e.g. at megalithic tombs). This is a unique opportunity to experience such places as Sumba – one of the very few islands left on Earth which still follows the Neolithic practice of burial in megaliths.

We might even get a chance to participate in a unique ancient war ritual performed by Sumbanese warriors to honor their ancestors and ensure a good harvest. It is usually held in February or March; the exact dates will be announced two weeks before the event.

At the end of the journey we will relax and unwind for a few days in Bali's hedonistic paradise, taking in the best it has to offer: sunny beaches, delicious healthy food, luxurious spa treatments, beautiful walks along the rice terraces, and dances till sunrise.
Spend two weeks in a state of bliss exploring a faraway dream world of wilderness and ancient traditions!
